Murmuring the words Corsair Vengeance is like murmuring Ferrari to a car enthusiast. It evokes images of power and precision. It's synonymous with the highest levels of human engineering.
There's a segment of computer users who want to reach the absolute pinnacle of computer performance. And that's exactly the target audience Corsair is after with their DDR4 Vengeance RAM modules. On our DDR4 AMD Laptop RAM buying guide we only list this as the #3 best option. But for people who are into overclocking, this is obviously the #1 best best.
What we like about Corsair Vengeance DDR4 Laptop RAM:
-
Proven for Overclocking
Millions of people around the world have been proving the power and efficiency of Corsair's Vengeance modules for over a decade. No other brand has attracted as many computer enthusiasts to overclock their chips. The result is that the Corsair brand has some of the most active users on overclocking forums. So if you ever run into an odd ball issues, if you buy Corsair Vengeance DDR4 SODIMM chips, you can count on an endless array of people more than happy to help online.
-
Proven Compatibility
Some units we found advertising that they run at 3600 MHz will require the user to edit XMP settings in order to achieve it. But not with Corsair. You get 3600 MHz right off the bat. Unless you are running an older system that might under clock these units to 2133 MHz.
-
Lifetime Warranty with Tech Support
Because Corsair Vegeance DDR4 SODIMM Ram is such a huge standard, the chips have been tried in almost every possible configuration imaginable. This means those unusual errors that creep up? Yeah, they are mostly inexistente with Corsair. Or if some update does cause an issue, it will always be swiftly taken care of as millions of other users with similar configurations request a fix. There's a saying that there's safety in numbers.
What we don't like about this RAM:
Nothing really. We think overall the price of Crucial's Ballistix sticks is a better deal. But they don't offer lifetime guarantee. And really we only recommend that RAM for people who are aiming at running their system above the 3000 MHz rate. So if you don't care for that, that would easily make Corsair Vengeance DDR4 Laptop RAM the #1 choice for upgrading modern notebook machines.
Overall
Corsair is the best brand if you are looking for a good mix of quality, durability, reliability and price. If you want a faster or cheaper option, we suggest the Crucial Ballistix. But really, this or any of the 3 brands we recommend for upgrading AMD laptops with DDR4 ram will result in drastically improved performance.
