Saying the words Corsair Vengeance elicits sighs of yearning both from pimply faced gamers and executive professionals who work with graphics. It's a standard not only because of the underlying power, reliability and build quality it entails. But also because of the prestige and look of these memory units. This is the computer RAM that people who use words like 'cord management' want and sometimes, even need.

I've never understood why versions of RAM that are two Gen behind the newest model can cost just as much or more than RAM that is only one gen behind the newest model, but for some reason that seems an inevitable reality. And so it happens when looking to buy DDR3 Desktop RAM.

Most reviews of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM will go over the same tired stats. We're different in that we simply list what we like and don't.

What we like about Corsair Vengeance DDR3 Memory:

  • Proven for Overclocking

Many enthusiast like to overclock their desktop DDR3 RAM to achieve maximum performance. These computer memory chips were designed with overclock settings in mind. Corsair provides amble room for stable overclock options. Generations of computer gamers and graphic design artists have consistently tested Corsair Vengeance and it has stood the test of time.

  • Proven Compatibility

Whether your computer is a little older or newer, Corsair has proven to be compatible across one of the widest arrays of computers. Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM comes in several versions including 1.35, 1.5 and 1.65 Volts. There's kits for all types of channels and computer processors.

  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

This is a bit controversial. The limited part means there are people who fall outside of their normal coverage. But most users will be covered and can count on their units lasting pretty much forever. Corsair is a very stable company so there's little possibility they stop existing. Additionally, we find lifetime warranty also generally means better build quality and higher levels of factory QA. Our editor Josh Martinez has had 16GB of Corsair Vegeance DDR3 Blue for 2 years without an issue.

  • Safety in Numbers

Experienced computer enthusiasts will always tell you one thing: there's safety in numbers. When your overclocking or modifying your computer, it's normal to run into issues. Corsair is one of the most purchased brands of DDR3 Desktop Ram on the market right now. Because of that, their forums are always active. If you run into an issue, it's likely someone else has already too!

  • Sturdy Build Quality

One thing that really impresses when you see these in person is how heavy and sturdy they feel in the hand. The design is amazing, but the build quality really drives it all home.

What we don't like about this RAM:

Nothing really. Maybe the price? But it's so worth it. There's a few considerations that users need to keep in mind, but this is for anybody upgrading from slower 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM to the newer models running at 1600+ MHz.

  • For many computers, users will need to update XMP settings. Because of the Corsair effect, it's easy to find videos on youtube of how to do this.

  • Sometimes memory can be damaged during shipping, so make sure to run mdsched.exe on your windows computer to see the memory is running well.

Overall

There's a reason we list this as the #1 recommended DDR3 Desktop RAM Buying Option. The price drop since this came out is jaw dropping.

Most people looking for DDR3 RAM memory will see a huge boost in performance by installing the maximum amount of Corsair Vengeance RAM. It's the cheapest and easiest way to upgrade your computer and make it run better than new.
